Bologna, March 2014
AcZon signed a partnership agreement with Nuclear Medicine Dept. S. Orsola University Hospital (Bologna) directed by Professor Stefano Fanti.
This partnership aims  to evaluate the in vivo biodistribution of nanomaterials (Silica Nanoparticles) by means of PET (Positron Emission Tomography) technology.

The results deriving from this collaboration will permit, in the first phase, to identify the AcZon Silica Nanoparticles’ natural homing in animal models.
In the second phase the project will study the specific homing of targeted Nanoparticles (modified with specific biomolecules)  towards cells, tissues and target organs.

Thanks to this crucial collaboration we will increase the knowledge on AcZon Silica Nanoparticles as potential tools for drug delivery, diagnostic imaging and theranostics.
